Get to know us
Fitret Counseling was founded with a single belief: that every person deserves access to compassionate, professional mental health care — regardless of background, language, or location.
Based in Sarbet, Addis Ababa, we serve individuals, couples, families, and organizations across Ethiopia and beyond. Our sessions are available in both English and Amharic, in-person at our office or virtually for clients anywhere in the world.
The name Fitret (ፍጥረት) reflects our core philosophy — honoring the innate nature within every person and supporting them in returning to their truest, most balanced self.
We blend evidence-based therapeutic methods with genuine human connection. No two clients are the same, so our counselors tailor every session to your specific situation, goals, and pace.
Our team draws from a range of proven approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy — always adapting to what each client actually needs rather than applying a rigid formula.
Whether you are navigating anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief, work stress, or simply want to understand yourself better — our team meets you where you are, in a confidential and culturally sensitive environment where you can speak openly and move forward with clarity.

Our mission is to provide professional, culturally grounded mental health support that empowers individuals and strengthens organizations. We are committed to making quality counseling accessible across Ethiopia — in Amharic and English, online and in person — while honoring the unique social, familial, and spiritual dimensions of mental health in the Ethiopian context.
Through individual counseling, couples and family sessions, and corporate wellness programs, we are working to normalize mental health care as part of everyday life — not just something sought in crisis.
Founder & Director, Fitret Counseling
Endegana Bekele founded Fitret Counseling on a simple but powerful belief — that healing is not a luxury, but something every person deserves access to, in a language they understand, in a space where they feel truly seen.
Endegana holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Addis Ababa University and has spent many years in the mental health field in Ethiopia. Drawing on that experience, she built Fitret Counseling from the ground up — assembling a dedicated team of professional counselors and mental health practitioners committed to delivering compassionate, culturally grounded care.
As founder and director, Endegana leads and oversees the Fitret Counseling team, ensuring that every client — whether an individual, couple, family, or corporate organization — receives support that is professional, personalized, and rooted in evidence-based practice.
Under her leadership, the Fitret team works with a wide range of clients including adults navigating stress, anxiety, and depression; couples working through communication breakdowns or trust issues; adolescents and young people facing identity, academic, or family pressures; and professionals experiencing burnout or workplace conflict.
Endegana is deeply committed to building a practice that reflects the Ethiopian context. She understands that mental health here carries unique social, familial, and spiritual dimensions — and she has built a team that takes those seriously rather than applying a one-size-fits-all Western framework. All services are available in both Amharic and English, in-person at the Sarbet, Addis Ababa office and via secure virtual sessions for clients across Ethiopia and in the Ethiopian diaspora worldwide.
